Langley’s very own Interact Club has been helping the community for years, but now certain students are taking their desires to aid the community all the way to New York City. Nicole Zaccack, the President of Langley’s Interact Club, explained that, “some of our members are going to New York to volunteer and see how the UN works, which is an extremely rare opportunity.” The Interact Club is an association sponsored by the Mclean Rotary club and is filled with young adults and students who work to benefit the community through service projects. The Club’s main goal this year is to create and raise enough funds through charity walks and other fundraisers for a shelter box. Shelter boxes are “boxes with supplies a single family for 18 months whose houses have been destroyed by natural disaster,” according to Trevor Davidson. Langley’s rotary club plans on having a fun and exciting year accomplishing projects and events that help their community in order to build a better world.
