With the latest winter trends hitting the hallways of Langley, Fashion Marketing 2 students are rapidly compiling themes and ideas for their biggest production of the year: the spring fashion show. From catwalks to catfights, Langley’s fashion show promises to be quite the production—with a few style epiphanies in the process.
Co-directors junior Lori Kealey and senior Jenna Weida are frantically preparing to perfect every aspect of the show. Currently, they are “working on PR for the tryouts and the theme,” according to Kealey.
Weida thinks “seeing the end result” will be the best and most gratifying part of the process. “There is so much behind-the-scenes work going on that people don’t even realize, so seeing it all come together in an amazing final show will be awesome.”
The hype around the fashion show has been leaving many eager and fashion-forward teens at Langley on their toes. The anticipation to see the pieces featured in the show excites the students more than anything. “The different styles can give me a feel of what the latest trends are,” said sophomore Sana Haider.
“Seeing the different makeup and hairstyles is just as exciting as seeing the clothes,” added junior Nicole Azmoudeh.
Another crowd-pleasing tradition in the fashion show is the student designer scene, which features dresses designed by Langley’s own. In just two months, designers’ ideas are transformed from paper to runway reality.
Model tryouts are on Jan. 10 after school in the auditorium, and both girls and boys are welcome. The fashion show itself is on Saturday, Feb. 11.
