It’s not summer without a few carefree nights, under the stars listening to your favorite music.
This summer numerous concerts will attract many Langley students, here is a play by play of what to expect to find and hear during the summer of 2013.
This is usually the first major country concert of the season and you can expect a big turnout from Langley students. This year the concert will take place on Saturday May 18 and will be held at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow VA. “WMZQ is something I look forward to every year, I love going with all my friends,” states junior Logan McLendon. With plenty of cowboy boots in sight country fans can expect to hear the sweet sounds of Luke Bryan, Thompson Square and Florida Georgia Line.
On June 23 this European boy band will make their way over to D.C. to perform at the Verizon Center. With fans ranging from girls in elementary school to high school this concert sold out within minutes when tickets went on sale last summer.
This is a more low key concert that will be held on July 20th at Merriweather Post Pavilion. This venue is located in Colombia MD, so it’s quite a hike away, however many students are willing to make the trek. “Fun. is one of my favorites bands so I know it will be well worth it,” claims senior Riley Cutler.
With a mix of Folk and country this concert at Merriweather Post is sure to be sold out. The Lumineers started turning heads in country music and have not looked back. From country lovers to folk lovers to the everyday listener many fans will come out to Merriweather on July 26th to hear The Lumineers.
This concert is by far one of the most anticipated concerts of the year. With tickets selling out in minutes, and now scalpers pricing many at thousands of dollars, this concert will be one to remember. Beyonce will grace the Verizon Center with her presence on July 29 and 30.
