“I’m with Resurgam First Care! Tell me what’s going on!”
“She won’t last long! I don’t care where, just find a place!”
“The more I examine the patient, the more incongruities I find.”
“I’m just here to do my business.”
“Let the heavens be my witness.”
These are the words from five of six exceptionally skilled doctors in the recently released medical game for the Wii; Trauma Team. The fifth game in the Trauma Center series created by Atlus, allows you to choose from six different medical fields; forensics, surgery, endoscopy, orthopedics, diagnosis and first response. The mission in each is the same; to save lives.
For every character, there is an incredibly detailed story line to compliment the anime/manga-styled graphic of the game. Some character’s events will crossover into other character storylines; for example, if someone is injured in first response, you may have to perform surgery on them.
The characters of the varying fields are definitely not lacking in personality; paramedic Maria Torres’ quick decision skills, diagnostician Gabriel Cunningham’s sarcastic words, forensic analyst Naomi Kimishima’s unbelievable calmness, former prisoner and now surgeon CR-S01’s medical knowledge, soft-spoken-endoscopy- wielding Tomoe Tachibana, and orthopedic surgeon Hank Freebird’s gentleness.
“Never having played any other Trauma Center games, it was easy to catch on. The gameplay was exciting and still didn’t get boring even after the 50th time you’ve removed a tumor,” said junior Katie Ledford.
After completing each doctor’s seven episodes, a locked episode becomes playable. It is a episode including all six doctors and is said to be the most dramatic and evokes the most emotion out of you than all of the other episodes. Once the locked episode is completed, there are extras for each of the characters.
Whether or not you want to be a doctor in the future, this intense game is worth your while.
