The curtain is drawn. The auditorium is silent. The talent has gone home. But this year, sophomore Divita Vohra had a second chance to display her talent. Vohra was the first place winner at this year’s talent show and in addition to winning $100, she had a chance to sing in front of the crowd at the pep rally on June 3. “It went well, better than I expected. I was nervous but once I started singing it was fine,” said Vohra. At the pep rally she sang “Drops of Jupiter” by Train, the same song she sang at the talent show. As well as her solo performance, Vohra performed a duet with sophomore Alfred Lam. The judges this year were Ms. Brigitte Lavey, senior Sarah Loh, Ms. Joan Tannenbaum, Mr. Fred Amico, Srta. Jennifer Stocks, Mrs. Gina Song and Nick McDonough. “I thought that all of the acts were great; Divita’s voice and demeanor were incredibly impressive, and I was blown away at the talent level of some of the acts,” said administrator Mr. Fred Amico. Dani Lee was awarded second place with her martial arts dance, and third place went to Plain White T enthusiasts who performed “The Rhythm of Love.” Both performed at the spring pep rally.
