“I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don’t have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you.”
This quote from Liam Neeson will be etched in my memory forever.
In case you have been deprived of exceptional movies for your whole life, let me recap the first Taken movie for you: Bryan Mills’s 17 year-old daughter, Amanda, is on a trip with her friend in Paris. When she gets there, she is abducted by a gang of human-traffickers.
Bryan, played by Liam Neeson, is determined to find her and seek revenge on her captors. He goes to Paris, looking for his daughter, killing several men in the process. I’ll stop there.
But this is a movie review of the sequel, Taken 2. In this movie, the father of one of the men that Bryan Mills killed in Paris is determined to seek revenge on him.
This time, the movie takes place in Istanbul, Turkey.
From the scene where the fathers of Mills’s victims are grieving at their son’s gravesites at the beginning, to the scene where Amanda and Bryan are crashing through the streets of Istanbul in a taxi, this movie kept me captivated.
I won’t give away any more details, but I will say that this movie was awesome. There were so many great action scenes, fight scenes, and of course, a few car chases. If I had to rate this movie, I’d give it a 9 ½ out of 10.
Bryan Mills uses his strength, calm, and intelligence to make sure that he will defeat the evil father of the victim.
The bottom line is that if you haven’t seen this movie yet, see it. And if you haven’t seen the first Taken movie, I just feel sorry for you.
