If somehow your identity got stolen, would you expect the person who did it to look like Melissa McCarthy?
That’s exactly what happened to Sandy Patterson, an ordinary tax expert from Denver, played by Jason Bateman in “Identity Thief.”
He discovers that his credit card is maxed out due to the evil-minded Diana from Florida (her last name is never revealed).
There is also another problem that Diana has: she gets mixed up with a drug dealer and his entourage.
After selling some bad credit cards to Paulo, the drug dealer, hires two “hitmen” to “take care of Diana.” Eventually, Sandy gets involved with them too.
I really liked this movie. It was funny throughout, with just that sort of humor that I love- physical comedy.
Even though it was really funny, I expected this movie to be way less serious. I wanted the movie to just be funny throughout, with no serious or sad scenes at all.
There were only a few of these scenes though, nothing that would ruin the movie at all. But the scenes that were serious were really serious.
Altogether, this movie was really funny, and I’d recommend it to anyone.
