As a community service project, theĀ girls basketball teamĀ decided to hold a food drive for a Title IX school. The goal was to raise food for the students who only get to eat breakfast and lunch because it is provided in school, and will not be receiving any food while on winter break. The Freshman, JV, and Varsity teams all took turns collecting food and donations outside of Safeway in the Great Falls Center on Dec. 4th from 9-5. On Dec. 11th the girls gathered in the Langley cafeteria to box the food and send it to the kids. In total the teams were able to raise 55 boxes of food with 7 miscellaneous boxes left over, $1,010 in cash, $550 of grocery gift cards and approximately $3000 worth of food. It was a great way to show their holiday spirit.
