The renowned Langley Symphony Band and Wind Symphony hosted a special guest in their preview-concert on Feb. 24 – the Cooper Middle School Symphonic Band, directed by Ms. Kyle Marie Steffens. The Cooper Symphonic Band, at least a quarter of which will probably end up in Langley Band next year, performed ‘Belleau Wood’ by Edmondson, ‘American Riversongs’ by La Plante, and ‘Among the Clouds’ by Balmages.
The Langley Symphony Band followed up by ‘Pan American March’ by King, ‘Voodoo’ by Montoya Jr., and ‘Foundry’ by Mackey. Finally, the Wind Symphony played ‘Hosts of Freedom’ by King, ‘Vesuvius’ by Ticheli, and ‘Aurora Awakes’ by Mackey.
After a successful performance, the Langley Bands are preparing for another big concert coming up: Lincoln Center Performance at Avery Fisher Hall, Mar 14 at 8 pm. Those who are interested will be more than welcome to come.
