After a district title, making it to regionals, and even sending a couple students to
states, the debate team wrapped up its fruitful season with a celebratory team
dinner.

Hosted by sophomore Alex Park, the team enjoyed a pot-luck dinner, games of Ping-Pong, and a chance to look back on the season’s triumphs.

A main focus of the evening was thanking the two team sponsors, Mr. Gifford Krivak and Mr. Christopher Rademacher. The team presented them with gifts, expressed their thanks, and overall tried to show their appreciation for keeping the club going. The captains, juniors Sabrina Khan, Ashley Kwon, and Samantha Kobor affirmed that, “had they not stepped in, the club would not have continued this year”.

Returning members of the team, including the captains, also felt that the sponsors really helped create a team atmosphere that had not been present in previous seasons.

“This was our first team dinner, and one of the reasons we had it was because we were a genuine team this year,” remarked Forensics captain Samantha Kobor.

A dedicated group, three committed captains, and two devoted sponsors, combined
to create a truly memorable season for the Langley Debate and Forensics Team. With so much improvement in one season, the sky is the limit for next year.
