For the last three years, Langley has hosted an annual bicycle drive for Wheels to Africa, an organization that collects bikes and ships them to Africa for people to use as transportation.
“It’s a good cause, giving bikes to people who need it, because a lot of people have bikes that they don’t even use anymore,” said Key Club officer David Paul. People can help out by donating a bike or by breaking down and loading the bikes into a truck so they can be shipped off to Africa.
On average, Langley collects fifty bikes every year. Many students at Langley think it is a unique way to help the less fortunate.
“It is a great way to help the unfortunate because transportation is a big problem in some places, and we take it for granted. Some people have to walk at least three miles [just to get to the place closest from where they live],” said senior Tiffany Lok.
