For the second year now, Langley will be offering the National Spanish Exam to any students taking Spanish. The nationally sponsored exam is organized at Langley by the Spanish Honor Society in order to encourage students to advantage of a way to potentially win a scholarship. “Aside from scholarships, it looks great on resumes and college applications,” said SHS President, senior Alexcia Chambers.
The timed test includes vocabulary and grammar, but does not have a listening portion. Students take the exam that adheres to their Spanish level.
Last year, six students received impressively high scores and some were rewarded with scholarships. “It’s interesting to see where Langley [students] ranks nationally,” said SHS sponsor Senorita Stocks.
The exam will take place on Mar. 21, with a practice test on Mar. 14. Both will take place during Wednesday PLCs.
The fee for the exam is $5 but is covered for anyone in Spanish Honor Society.
