The Langley DECA team won big at a state competition this month in Virginia Beach, receiving numerous awards for marketing role-play scenarios and a 100- question exam.

DECA is an organization for high school marketing students. It holds annual competitions in categories such as economics, marketing, finance, hospitality and management.

Over 2500 members from the state of Virginia met at the conference to compete for a trip to the ICDC ( International Career Development Center) in Anaheim, CA.

After completing, the DECA members were given lots of freedom to enjoy themselves, such as hanging out with their friends or going to the beach.

Langley students were proud of their achievements. “It’s a given because Langley’s the best,” said sophomore Ricki Libby, who will be moving on to the national finals in Anaheim, California in May.
