After serving as assistant principal of Langley High School for over seven years, Mr. Fred Amico has been unanimously selected as the next principal of Langley with the position becoming effective July 1, 2015. Mr. Amico is known for his involvement in the Langley community, and is always seen at school events past school hours supporting students. His dedication to the school was a big factor in the selection.
“I love the school, I love the kids, I love the community, so I thought it was a logical next step,” said Amico. When asked about his goals for next year, Amico replied, “To continue all the good work that we’ve been doing, with the kids and with the teachers – we have a great staff and great students and we’re just going to keep maximizing that potential and keep moving on.”
Following the departure of former principal Mr. Matthew Ragone earlier this year, Langley High School was dealt with the task of choosing a new principal for the upcoming 2015-2016 school year. Currently, Mr. Bruce Butler is serving as interim head principal, and is greatly contributing to the renovation process with his extensive experience and knowledge in the job.
“I’ve been in education for a long time, so it’s just a natural next step,” said Mr. Amico, reflecting on his journey through education. Congratulations, Mr. Amico!
