What’s the best way to make traffic in the Langley parking lot go faster? Honk your horn AS LOUD AS YOU CAN, of course. Hey who knows, if you’re lucky and you lay on your horn for about 5 minutes straight, everyone else will just move out of your way and let you leave first!
The sound of multiple blaring horns has always been such a peaceful and soothing sound to my ears as I’m trying to get home from school as quickly as I can. That earsplitting chaotic blast makes me feel right at home at Langley High School. It may put me into miniature cardiac arrest for a few seconds at first, thinking some monstrous accident is underway, but really it’s worth it. One person starts, and it’s like a chain reaction. I bet the first person who started this little tradition didn’t even realize how much of an endearing trend it would become.
Next thing you know, one person will start to honk out a tune on their own horn, and everyone else will join in. Who needs music on our radios? Maybe around the holiday season we can all chime in and start a school wide carol.
No recess? No problem. The parking lot already resembles a playground anyway, except instead of monkey bars and slides you’ve got BMWs and school buses. Add this new car-horn frenzy, and it’s like we are back in elementary school.
Just imagine if every car on the Beltway took the same approach as Langley students do when we’re impatient in our cars. Rush hour traffic would be so much more fun!
You know those hilarious jokes that are really funny the first time they’re told, but are beaten until they die and become extremely obnoxious? Well, this isn’t like that at all.
