Hordes of students surrounded tiny tables trying, hoping, to get their hands on the food Taste of Langley had to offer.
There were many different snacks and foods available at the event and a host of clubs and extracurricular organizations used this event to raise money by selling a variety of food or snacks.
Some students thought there should have been a more interesting selection of food.
Sophomore Sara Ebadi said, “ The Taste of Langley should have a wider variety of food instead of just amusement park food.”
I disagree because more diverse and cultural food would be more expensive, and no student would pay more than five dollars for food at this type of event.
Students could have obtained lunch foods from tables that featured Chipotle, Naked Pizza, and Chik-Fil-A.
The most popular drink was Tropical Smoothie, but sodas were also for sale.
If a student wished to get a snack they had the option to have ice pops, snow cones, or candy.
My personal favorites were Naked Pizza and the smoothie.
The smoothie was absolutely delicious and it was kept refreshingly cold. Naked Pizza, in general is made very well. The sauce on the pizza is very sweet, which makes the pizza great.
I also had the snow cones, but as usual when I was half way done with the cone it began to melt, which ruins the cone, but I diden’t mind because it was only a dollar.
While some foods were reasonably priced, five dollars is too much for one Chipotle burrito and a small chicken sandwich.
The frustrating part was some of the items were marked down as the event progressed. Right after I bought a smoothie, the price went down from $3 to $1.50.
Many students, including myself, enjoyed the food this event provided. Freshmen Sami Shames said, “All the food at Taste of Langley was extremely delicious.”
I completely agree because all of the food and drinks I had were very good.
While some people see need for change in the variety of food, I took pleasure in the food that was present at this event and see no reason or room for improvement.
