Langley students attending the annual Battle of the Bands competition on Saturday were treated to a concert-like experience featuring bands comprised of their very own peers.
Different methods were used to get the crowd hyped up, including interesting hats and the lead singer of one band taking off his shirt.
“It was so loud!” said sophomore attendee Anna Pope. “It was fun, though, and some of the bands were really good!”
First place was awarded to the band Cashmere’s Topia, and second place went to the band Last Stand. The band Friday Harbor was received third place.
Sophomore Seth Coggeshall, lead vocalist of Friday Harbor, said, “It was a good experience for us. We didn’t win first place, but we still had an awesome time performing and [want to] say thanks to our fans for coming out.”
