Red carpets, flashing cameras, and meeting famous celebrities were all part of freshman Samantha Denham’s Sunday night during her experience at the 19th annual SAG awards.
The Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) took place on Jan. 27 in Los Angeles, California and was broadcasted live on TV.
The Saxon Scope sat down with Samantha Denham to recount her encounters with celebrities and her experience walking down the red carpet.
Saxon Scope: What are the SAG awards?
Samantha Denham: The SAG awards stand for the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and it’s an award show where screen actors and actresses of movies and TV shows are recognized for their achievements.
SS: Why did you go the SAG awards?
SD: My dad gets invited every year because he’s a representative of California.
SS: Who did you meet at the SAG awards?
SD: I met a lot of people including Anne Hathaway, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Tina Fey, Sofia Vergara, Neil Patrick Harris, Cory Monteith, Jane Lynch, Ty Burrell, Eric Stonestreet, Sacha Baron Cohen, Jim Parsons, and James Marsden. I was really excited to meet Anne Hathaway and Bradley Cooper.
SS: What were the attitudes of the celebrities you met?
SD: They were all really nice and talked to me like they were ordinary people.
SS: Was anyone rude?
SD: Not really, but Neil Patrick Harris seemed a little annoyed.
SS: What did you do during the awards?
SD: I walked down the red carpet, watched the show, and went to an after party.
SS: Did you see anything going on behind the scenes?
SD: While they were on air I had to stay seated the whole time, but during commercial breaks I could get up and walk around. After commercial breaks, they also held up signs and told us when to clap.
SS: How would you rate your overall experience 1-10?
SD: A 10! It was really fun!
