Cue the music and let the fun begin. 150 THON dancers spent their Saturday dancing nonstop for eight hours to support the Joe Cassella Foundation, a charity that supports families of children who are ill.
Senior coordinators Natalie Rasmus and Brittany Gallagher put in tons of work to make the event happen. “This year Thon was a hit, with more dancers and more food than last year everyone had a great time,” said Rasmus.
“The Zumba dance was definitely the best, the dancers and spectators alike both enjoyed it,” said Gallagher.
The dancers agreed that the event was a success. “What a day. I’ll be back for more next year,” said sophomore Harrison Trinca.
An abundant array of food from restaurants like Sweet Leaf, Chipotle and The Tavern provided fuel for the dancers. Senior Drew “I single handedly downed the entire platter of sushi from Ichiban,” said senior Drew Armstrong.
In total, the Saxons raised $15,500 for the Joe Cassella Foundation. THON’s second year at Langley proved to be a hit, and the tradition will hopefully continue for years to come.
