Through teamwork and practice, the swimmers clearly dominated in the pool with numerous first place victories in a multitude of events. Senior Lauren Tangney took first in the girl’s event. Junior Ryan Natal made the cuts for states with his exceptional, school record-breaking performance in the 100 meter fly. Abi Speers also made the cuts for states in the 50 meter fly and the 100 meter freestyle.
The outstanding performance by the team not only brought them a victory against rival school McLean, but it also resulted in a massive boost of morale and excitement for the rest of the season. “We have set a high standard at the start of the season, and we will continue to raise that standard every week. We are an outstanding team and we will only get better through continued focus, determination, effort, and teamwork.” said coach Ryan Jackson.
