The varsity soccer team, which includes twelve new players this year, has already showcased its talent with an undefeated record, including wins over Fairfax, Jeb Stuart, Mount Vernon, West Potomac, South Lakes, Robert E. Lee, Madison and Chantilly.
“The season is going well so far. We really click as a team,” said senior defender and co-captain Jeff Cochran said. “Our captain, Dylan Price, motivates us.”
When asked about the most potentially exciting games of the year, Cochran said, “Stonebridge is always a rival.” Langley will be facing Stonebridge on Apr. 29 at home.
“I think McLean is [also] always anticipated because of our rivalry, and it’s the game that most people come out to watch,” added sophomore starter Justin Galiani. The next match-up against McLean will be on May 3 at home.
Reflecting on his last year, is bittersweet for senior co-captain Dylan Price, who will be playing at Emory University next fall. “Its kind of sad. Each game brings us one game closer to the end of the season, but we still have a lot more games to play so each one is exciting. You just got to get out there with the right attitude.”
