With high spirits through a rocky season, JV softball epitomizes what it means to be a team of proud, headstrong Saxons. The season began with a difficult dilemma- the girls lacked the crucial position of a trained pitcher. This posed a large setback, as competing with other schools with a fully-equipped team gave them a large disadvantage. With this problem in mind, the coaches and players pulled through and managed to successfully train a new pitcher, just in time to take the game at Fairfax with their first victory. “We came in with little expectations but we tried our hardest and had a lot of fun,” said freshman Claire Doody. Regardless of the final score, JV softball maintains sportsmanship as their top priority. “We have a lot of spirit and yell during the game, cheering on our teammates,” added Doody.
