When senior Austin Vasiliadis tore his ACL prior to the basketball season, most Langley fans had bleak views of the upcoming season. After a 4-5 start, it seemed as though the fan’s fears had come true. However, ever since their last loss more than a month ago to St. Mary’s Annapolis, the team has been on a roll, winning ten of their last eleven games and going undefeated in the district.
“You know, we started out slow, but now we’re playing pretty well and it feels like we’ll never lose again,” said senior guard Daniel Dixon.
“We are playing great. Our team is on a great run and all we will do is get better,” added junior guard Justin Galiani.
Head Coach Travis Hess is proud of his team’s recent success. “We are playing a lot better. I am very proud of our effort all over the court. If we just continue to do what we’ve been doing, we’ll put ourselves in a great position going into the playoffs.
The team still has two regular season rematch games against two highly ranked teams: Marshall and McLean. If Langley is able to win either one of those next two games, they will enter the district playoffs at the top of the district.
