Due to a recent anonymous donation of $100,000 by a Langley family, the Langley Booster club has now reached the halfway point of the $850,000 – $1,000,000 that it hopes to raise for the “Turf Langley” initiative. According to the Langley PTSA website, the Boosters need 100% of the funding by May 1. They will be hosting a Turf Auction at the Riverbend Country Club in Great Falls on Mar. 24 from 7:30pm – 11:30pm in an effort to raise the remaining funds. Tickets are $100 per person and the auction will be a fantastic night of dancing, food, and fun. Due to generous donations by families and local businesses, the silent and live auctions will consist of items such as “parking passes for 2012-2013 and 2013-2014; Prom, Homecoming, [and] McLean game packages; family vacations; party and professional photography packages, and much more,” as stated on the invitation. To view the invite or make an online contribution, visit www.langleyturf.org in order to help ensure that Langley will be able to install a turf field during the summer of 2012.
