Saxon Scope reporter Cayhan Movaghari makes his predictions for the first round on the NFL Playoffs:
This inner division rivalry will be a very interesting matchup in the first wild card playoff round. Although Minnesota beat Green Bay in week 17 to make the playoffs, I don’t give them much of a chance this week. Being at famous Lambeau field the packers will have the home field behind them and I believe they will surge the packers defense over the Vikings. Although Adrian Peterson will have a great game, I give Christian Ponder, quarter back of the Vikings no chance to beat former MVP Aaron Rodgers.
Prediction: Packers 35 Vikings 17
On the AFC side we have the Ravens and Colts playing in Baltimore. Although the colts are playing with heavy hearts after the return of Head Coach Chuck Pagano who’s fighting leukemia. I think that the return of Hall Of Fame line backer Ray Lewis will make a bigger impact and lead to a defensive clinic put on by the Ravens.
Prediction: Ravens 24 Colts 20
UPSET ALERT!!!
In this 3 versus 6 matchup between the falling texans and rising bengals I put the 12-4 texans on upset alert. Matt Schaub, quarter back of the Texans does not play well against pressure in the pocket and a certain defensive tackle named Geno Atkins will ruin Schaubs night. The offense will not play well and the defense will not play well enough to hold down the Bengals.
Prediction: Bengals 17 Texans 14
GAME OF THE WEEK
Finally! The Redskins have made the playoffs!!! But sadly their 7 game win streak will be snapped. Versus any other team I’d have the Redskins winning the first round but their stuck playing the hottest team in the NFL. Seattle is all around on fire! Their defense is playing great and Marshawn Lynch is lighting it up. Great management by rookie quarterback Russell Wilson will be enough to beat the Redskins in Washington. I hate to pick against the home team and especially one as fond to me as the Redskins but I sadly cannot pick them to win this one.
Prediction: Seahawks 35 Redskins 21
See you next week for the divisional playoffs!!
