No one cares about Dwight Howard’s shoe color or Kobe’s choice of lunch. I feel like I’m watching one of my mom’s daytime soap operas every day.
It’s the same thing over and over again. “The Lakers just won their second game in a row, is this a sign of things to come?” NO. It’s not.
The Lakers are horrible this year, we get it but there are 29 other teams in the NBA not just The LA Lakers.
I can safely say that at least 50% of Sport Center’s agenda is compiled of unimportant drama occurring with this storied franchise. I can safely say I have never seen a single Sacramento Kings highlight, or a Golden State Warriors highlight.
Now I know this one topic can’t be my sole purpose on hating this show. It’s the other 50% as well. With the remaining 50% they use 30% of it talking about arguments between players and coaches.
That’s great and all but I just want to know who won and lost the games.
Finally the last 20% is broken up into top plays (a personal favorite), actual game stats, actual game footage, post game conferences, and lastly analysis of the games.
Now if you divvy up all that, that means each gets 4% of its constantly running hour long production. That’s it, just 4% for analysis. Isn’t that what you get paid for?
Now I can’t hate on all of ESPN because my favorite show Pardon the Interruption is on this network, but I cannot stand listening to another story about the Lakers.
Now in other seasons there are other teams like the “Lakers.”
In football it’s a little broader but when it comes to baseball its Yankees, Redsox, Yankees, and Redsox, over and over and over again.
C’mon people, there are plenty of other teams out there.
Don’t even get me started on baseball. I refuse to watch ESPN as a whole the moment spring training rolls around.
How can you get so into a game where you essentially watch people stand around and if they get lucky hit a ball with a wooden bat?
There’s no action and a so called “web gem” happens in nearly every game.
The one positive thing Sport Center does is when they bring on ex players and coaches like John Gruden or Herm Edwards (both NFL) to analyze the game.
Now that’s when I can honestly say I enjoy this program.
So keep bringing Stephen A. Smith (NBA), Barry Melrose (NHL), and Buster Olney (MLB) to your program! They are the sole purpose on why I’m still interested on your depressing program.
