Marrying a prince–it’s every girl’s dream. Or at least, every girl who grew up watching Disney classics and The Princess Diaries. Today, this dream came true for Kate Middleton, the new wife of Prince William.
The bride looked radiant in a stunning Alexander McQueen wedding gown, and the groom looked equally handsome in all his royal garb. The ceremony was touching, and the couple frequently stole loving glances at each other throughout.
My favorite moment occurred when the newlyweds shared a kiss on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, not one, but two times.
Another highlight was Prince William’s brother, Prince Harry, looking back at Kate as she made her entrance and telling his brother, “Wait ‘till you see her.”
Throughout the day, I heard many Langley students asking each other why this wedding is so important, as we live in the US and are seemingly unaffected by the royals in Europe.
Simply put, nearly every girl wishes she was Kate, marrying into royalty and living a dream life of gowns and palaces. Apart from that, the royal couple just seems very normal and down-to-earth, not to mention absolutely adorable.
Granted, the hype about the wedding was a bit much, but I can’t say I wasn’t interested in every detail of the wedding, because, believe me, I was. All the hype and coverage made me feel as if I’d been invited to the wedding itself, and in the end, I enjoyed that.
Now, for those of you, like myself, who watched the wedding today with bated breath and now desperately desire marriage to a royal, don’t fret; Harry’s still available. But I call dibs.
