As Langley’s Relay For Life approaches, students participating are searching everywhere from neighbors to underneath their coach cushions for fundraising.
Each individual participant donates to their team and collects as much money as they can, all leading up to the actual event taking place on April 27-28.
The Relay For Life website guides students how to fundraise.
Some of these ideas include bake sales, homemade craft selling, community services and more. “We’re having a dunk tank and asking for donations. I think fundraising is really important because it’s for a great cause,” said freshman and RainBO team member Gabby Peker.
For all of the hungry students at Langley, lots of teams are selling food. “We’re having some bake sales and fun activities at Langley to try and help raise some extra money for our team,” said sophomore Alessandro Shapiro.
On the Relay For Life website, each team has their own group where they can track contributions and their total earnings.
Along with this, each team created a goal for the amount of money they would like to earn. The groups may also collect from people who aren’t a member in their group, yet are still generous enough to donate.
Langley students should be on the lookout for a variety of activities over the next couple of weeks and participate.
All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society and could help save a life.
