Langley is known for a superb theater department; the eye catching performances and the dedicated cast. In addition to their drama skills, the theater department is showing off their fun side with fundraisers to raise money for the department. Langley students can buy Chick-Fil-A every Friday or participate in Naked Mondays Month and order pizza while raising money for the Saxon Stage at the same time.
The Naked Pizza Mondays were a February only event, but students can still buy Chick-Fil-A every Friday until March 28th.
Theater teacher, Ms. Valerie Karasek, who is the head of the fundraising, said, “In general, fundraisers help to raise money for our future productions, as well as theater opportunities for our drama students, for example, stage combat or improvisation workshops, etc.”
Theater student Sydney Copp, a freshman, says; “We have two fundraisers at the moment, one for Naked Pizza and one for Chick-Fil-A. They’re both so great because everyone loves food, so students get a nice lunch while helping out the Saxon Stage at the same time. It’s a win-win for everyone! “
Karasek added, “Our ambitious theater productions are funded solely by our drama budget. So, between ticket sales and fundraising, we try to ensure we always remain “in the black.”
