Langley has been buzzing with excitement for the upcoming Relay for Life event, preparations in tact and fundraising at a high. From 6 pm on April 26th to 6 am on April 27th; a full 12 hours- the Langley community will stand up against cancer in the annual event.
For months, students have been creating teams and the RFL Committee has been working towards getting ready for the big event, fundraising especially. Through various events, even regular school days, donations have been collected for the occasion. Even at this year’s fashion show, as people stood in line outside awaiting for the doors to open, the RFL committee had been hard at work at gathering donations in turn for a hot cocoa or cup of coffee.
So far, there have been 50 teams signed up, with 339 participants in total. Over 12,000 dollars have been raised through donations, and all for a great cause. If you’d like to donate, visit relayforlife.org/langleymcleanva, and from there you can offer a helping hand and help fight in this battle against cancer.
