Tuesday night, the Boys Varsity Baseball team beat the McLean Highlanders in a tight 3-1 upset at McLean. Starting pitcher senior, Jake McSteen stepped up to the challenge with an impressive close in an emotional 7th inning.
Flashback two and half weeks ago, a preseason matchup with the Highlanders resulted in a 13-0 rout by McLean with a perfect game pitched by opposing pitcher Joey Sullivan. Angry and determined, the win Tuesday is a promising sign as they can hold their heads high with a 1-0 record in conference play. Despite the blowout earlier in preseason, bragging rights returns to Langley.
With a win at Bishop O’ Connell yesterday, the team moves to 8-5 on the season, on a roll.
