Parents and students stumbled trying to find seats while holding bouquets of flowers for the models. During this hectic time of grabbing seats and searching for friends, the voice of Taylor Swift echoed throughout the auditorium. Finally, the doors closed and the lights dimmed… and Langley’s 2011 Fashion Show began. It started off with the tale of a Princess in search of the perfect dress for a ball (narrated by juniors Samantha Sterling and Kelsey Costellia.)
As the princess searched far and wide for a magnificent gown, she met new friends and learned of new styles just waiting to be worn. Throughout the show she discovered styles like bohemian, lace, alpine, military, leather and sequins, nautical, little red dress, and mixed prints. There was also a hilarious showing of athletic wear, sported by Langley’s most dashing men. The Best Buddies Club was also featured in the show as they strutted down the runway with suits and smiles. Some of Langley’s favorite teachers were also presented in adorable outfits.
The gorgeous outfits were supplied by the models, as well as talented student designers Nicole Zaccack, Allie Pivik, Lena Welch, Caitlin Cox, Elizabeth Regan, Riley Galligan, Ashley Uzer, Margo Swomley, Val Caliguire, and Alicia Melendez. There was also an entire collection of animal themed outfits by the gifted designer, Farhana Khan.
At the end of the show, there was a prom dress scene, sponsored by Cache and MW Tux. Not only did the models look amazing, but our very own Mr. Ragone, Mr. Bowerman and Mr. Amico, also strutted their stuff on the runway as they escorted the girls two by two during the Prom scene.
Everyone probably knows how this story ends – not only did the princess find her perfect ball gown, everybody also lived “fashionably ever after.”
